    Archie the First Search Engine
    The first search engine Archie was introduced in 1990. This was the beginning of search engines. They have evolved since Archie, as we now have Google, Bing, Yahoo, and others. I use Google multiple times a week to help with different activities. Whether it be searching up an article, asking a question, or some homework help, search engines definitely help a lot.

    Tim Berners Lee developed the World Wide Web which definitely has a large impact on my life. This made it so that private homes could connect to the internet. I now use the internet daily. I use many different sites for school, for imformation, and enjoyment. WIthout this invention, my life would be very different than the way it is now.

    Neil Papworth sent the first text message which said "Merry Christmas" over the Vodafone nextwork to Richard Jarvis' phone. I use text messaging daily now as well as all the members of my family and most friends. It helps us communicate easier and quicker.

    Toy Story Released: First Computer Fully-Animated Movie
    Toy Story paved the way for some great fully-animated movies for all ages. This started an era of a whole different kind of movie which is continuously enjoyed by many including my family and me.
  • GPS Goes Mainstream

    GPS Goes Mainstream
    Until May 2, 2000, the United States intentionally degraded GPS signals available to the public for national security reasons. In announcing the discontinuation of the feature that deliberately degraded the signal, the White House said in a statement that civilian users of GPS would be able to pinpoint locations up to 10 times more accurately from before. My family uses the GPS now very often, whether it be going to the beach or to a friends' house. We would be legitamately lost without it.

    Apple Releases the First Ipod
    Music is an essential part of my life. I listen to music on my current ipod daily. I feel that music is an outlet that picks you up when you're down, copes with you, or just makes you want to move. Without the access to music on my ipod, I think I would not be as happy and would not have much motivation to go to the gym or do much. My ipod is a main, useful part of my life.

    I always used Skype with my oldest sister when she went to college. It helped us keep in touch in a way that was even more special than a letter, email, or phone call. This lead to Facetime on mobile devices. This continues to help me stay close to my two older sisters who do not live at home anymore.

    Mark Zuckerberg Lauches Facebook
    Facebook truly sparked my interest in computers and technological communication. Everyone was getting a Facebook account, and I remember I wasn't allowed to have one until I graduated 8th grade. When I got an account, I loved it immediately. I enjoy it still today as I keep in touch with family members and friends in various places. I also loved from the beginning how you can share pictures and see events from other people's lives.
  • Twitter is Launched

    Twitter is a great social media site which helps me keep up with my friends and the news. It's great because it has 140 characters maximum per message. I really like this because I get to see short funny, cute, and informative messages. Twitter has nice, small summaries and news messages which keep me up to date.
  • Nintendo Launches the Wii

    The Wii changed the way video games were played. Instead of sitting on the couch with a remote control in hand, players were pulled into the action, using a wireless controller to play games. It is even used to teach school children music and to help people lose weight. Without this fun technology, I would never have been into any video games or would never have been as active as I am with it.
