  • Yahoo!

    David Filo and Jerry Yang founded Yahoo in 1994. It bagan as a hobby but then expanded around the globe. It has more than 500 million users worldwide today. There are more than 20 markets and regions around the globe. Yahoo was incorporated in March of 1995. It is another way to communicate with others
  • Bluetooth was invented

    Bluetooth was invented by Ericsson. In May, 1998 the standard was formalized by Bluetooth Special Intrest Group. Version 2.0 was released in November 2004. In July 2007, Bluetooth 2.1 was realeased. It is important to us because it helps us communicate with others while using no hands.
  • DVD was invented

    The DVD format was announced in September, 1996. The official DVD specification was relased in Version 1.0 in September, 1996. There was many technologies and many contributors. DVD players enable us watch videos in a smaller device.
  • Google was founded

    Google was founded
    Google filed for incorporation in California. Craig Silverstein was their first employee, who is a computer science grad student at Stanford. "PC Magazine" recognized Google as the search engine of choice in the Top 100 Web Sites for 1998. Google allows us to search for information within the internet.
  • Verizon was created

    Verizon was created
    Verizon was used under the VZ symbol on July 3, 2000. The mergers that formed Verizon were many years in the making. Former GTE chairman and CEO Charles R. Lee became Verizon's founding chairman of the Board and co CEO. Verizon helps us communicate, through email, phone, and other useful communication advances.

    This breakthrough MP3 player allowed you to download up to 1,000 CD quality songs to a portable 6.5 ounce music player that can fit in a pocket. iPods can allow you to listen to music and since it is portable it is easy to take with you anywhere.
  • The launch of Facebook

    Founded by Mark Zuckerberg, it was originally called thefacebook. He and Eduardo Saverin ran the website while at Harvard. Soon Facebook went to Sanford and Yale. Months later it was a national phenomenon. In August 2005 it was offically called Facebook. This can help you communicate with friends all over the world.

    YouTube
    The idea for YouTube existed since earlier in 2005. It was founded by former PayPal employees, Chad Hurley and Steven Chen. The first video ever uploaded was titled "me at the zoo." In 2010 YouTube introduced video rental service that allows people to watch movies on YouTube. This is currently only available to U.S residents. YouTube is a way to watch videos that people from all over the world uploaded.
  • Twitter was created

    Twitter was created
    Twitter was founded by Jack Dorsey, Biz Stone, and Evan Williams and was publicly launched in July 2006. Twitter is available in 30 different languages. It is a social networking website that allows you to write 140 character long post updates. This enables you to see what people have to say all around the world.
  • The original IPhone was released

    This date is when the iPhone made its debut to the publice and became available for purchase. iPhones are cell phones so they can help communicate with anyone even if your not home.
