The Petition of Rights pulled the people in the New World further away from their homeland. It was a statement of civil liberties to King Charles I. The Petition Right limited the king's ability to tax, imprison citizens without cuase, quarter troops, and institute martial law.

King Charles II wanted to take more control of the colonies, so he sent his army to storm New Amsterdam, or New Netherland, to take the city over and take control of the fur trade. This started too caused unrest among the colonies because they did not like that the England was basically following them to the New World.

Colonies put three Indians on trial and killed them. The Indians retaliated and in southern New England the battles were fought were 2,500 colonist died. The Wampanoag tribe's chief, Philip was assassinated and the end the war. This built more of a walls between the Colonists and the Native Americans.

Bacon's Rebellion was triggered when a grab for Native American lands was denied. The Colonists were complaining about the Native Americans. This caused planation owners to turn away from using indentured servitude and start using slaves from Africa.
