    First Internet Web Browser released to Public
    On December 25, 1990, Tim Berners-Lee gave a special kind of Christmas gift was given to the world. The WorldWideWeb browser (and later Nexus to avoid confusion) allowed people using a variety of different devices to easily click and scroll through the internet. The internet contained countless amounts of information, even during it's infancy, and has only grown since.
  • First SMS Text Message Sent

    First SMS Text Message Sent
    Neil Papworth would send the first SMS text message on December 3rd, 1992. It simply said "Merry Christmas.". Nokia would later expand on the technology next year and their phones would have an SMS texting feature. Texting since has become an easy and quick way to communicate to anyone, anywhere.

    Nintendo 64 is Released
    The Nintendo 64 may have been the most important gaming console of the 90s. The console pushed what was possible with 3d graphics at what was considered a decent price point, with high retail sales to show for it. Nintendo would later contain to grow their game and toys empire.
  • DVDs Released to Public

    DVDs Released to Public
    After being worked on in 95, DVDs would be released in 1996. They would replace VHS tapes, which were large and prone to damage. DVDs were conveniently small and could hold massive (relative) amounts of data. Companies like Toshiba and Sony were partly responsible.
  • Google Search Engine

    Google Search Engine
    While not the first search engine, Google is by far the most well-known and has become standard even to this day. It was originally released on Stanford's website and took about half of the Stanford network's resources. Larry Page and Sergey Brin would later follow suit and found Google Corp.
