    Toyota introduces the first Hybrid car to the U.S. Hybrid cars became popular quickly, due to there environmentally friendly features. Hybrid cars introduced a new, efficent form of transportation.
  • Text Messaging

    The new form of comunication comes to the United States, changing the way people keep in touch. Texting is a fast and convenient way to stay in touch with people. Texting bootsted the cell phone market as well.
  • BluRay

    BluRay changed the way people watched movies. VCRs were out and BluRay was in. Many people have a BluRay player and have switched from DVDs.
  • Camera Phones

    With the release of camera phones people could now take and access their pictures at any time, changing the way we capture the moment. The camera phone has also changed social media. People today can snap a picture at any time and share it with all of their friends.
  • iTunes

    iTunes was invented to sell songs in digital form for under $1.00. People could now listen all of there favorite songs without having to buy the latest CD, which was already a step up in convinience from vinyl records. iTunes made music portable (on iPods).
  • Wikipedia

    Many students could tell you that without Wikipedia, they never would've finished some assignments. Wikipedia became an online encylopedia and is still used today to find lots of information.
  • iPod

    The iPod was released starting the growth of Apple products. People could now take all of their music everywhere they go right in there pocket. No need to lug around a CD player or a boom box on your shoulder with iPods around.
  • Segway PT

    This self-balancing electric-powered machine didn't take off as fast as its inventors expected. It has been known as a good transportation tool for security guards, but it is not common to see an everyday pedestrian rolling through the neighborhood on one.
  • Completion of the Human Genome Project

    It secuenced the entire human genome, shining light on disease and human migration. This project is to protect people from all sorts or diseases. It has provided a lot of information on how the human body works, influencing the way we care for ourselves.
  • Facebook

    With the launch of Facebook, peoples way of communicating with friends and family changed. With direct messaging, statuses, and your own personal timeline facebook is a place that people talk about their opinions, stay in touch, and share life events. Some people now comunicate more through facebook than in person. It is a good way to stay in touch with old friends and distant family.
  • YouTube

    Giving people access to videos of historic events, information, and music YouTube is now the fourth most visited website. You can find just about anything on YouTube from funny videos to a how-to tutorial on whatever you're trying to do. Some people use YouTube to express their opinions or create entertainment. There is now a large number of people who are refered to as "YouTube famous".
  • Twitter

    In 2006 the world of tweeting began, with the release of this social network. Many celebrities have a Twitter account and post updates to their followers who are usually fans hoping to get noticed. This has given fans a more person connection to their favorite stars. Twitter is used most by teens and young adults posting an opinion or thought for their followers to read.
  • Wii

    The Wii was the first handheld pointing device that detects movement. This new game console was focused on making people active while playing video games. It grew popular quickly and was followed by many other similar consoles focused on making people active.
  • iPhone

    The first iPhone is released starting the Smart Phone frenzy. People now were able to acces the needed information while on the go.
  • Amazon Kindle

    The Kindle provided a transportable bookshelf at your finger tips, allowing people to read any book they purchase anywhere they like.
