Macintosh 128K
The Macintosh was the first Apple computer created, designed by Steve Jobs. It was later renamed Macintosh 128K as a later design was produced. It has a 9" built in black and white display of 512 × 342 pixels, and a simple keyboard. There were ports to expand to internet connectivity, printers, a numpad for a keyboard and more. It had an internal memory capacity of 128 KB, and a single floppy disc drive for additional storage. -

While original ideas for a worldwide information network started in the 1960's, it wasn't until 1989 that the Internet became individually commercialized. Neverwinter Nights (First Online Multiplayer Game)
Neverwinter Nights was created by Don Daglow, and ran alongside America On-Line (AOL)'s initial launch. It was the first online multiplayer game, co-developed for the release of AOL services. It may not be a BIG step in computer technology history, but it opened doors for the wide, diverse world of online multiplayer games we all love to play -
Windows 3.1x
This operating system is important to me, because it's the first OS that I ever worked with. I know it's not the first commercial OS available for personal use, but it's pretty close. Developed by Microsoft in 1992. It was still largely MS-DOS based, but allowed for expanded use of TrueType fonts (1st time we see this technology), peripheral devices like mouse and speakers. It paved the way for later Windows 95 and beyond -
Danger Hiptop (AKA: T-Mobile Sidekick)
Danger, Inc. developed the Hiptop in 2002, in a close partnership with T-mobile and later sold to Microsoft in 2008. It featured a swing-style screen that revealed a full QWERTY keyboard underneath, and app support for AIM and Myspace. I was envious towards everyone who had one because those were the social medias of my teens
