    On May 2, 2000 GPS became avaiable to the mainstream public. Before May of 2000, the United States had restrictd the use of GPS signals to the public.

    Wikipedia became available on january 15, 2001. This website is a free user-generated online encylopedia.

    Apple comptuers publically anounced on October 23, 2001 that they had made a portable music digital player.

    The camera phone was introduced to North America in 2002. Over six milleion were sold in the United States alone in the year 2003.

    The Itunes store was created in 2003, this allowed consumers to purchase music digitally and play it whenever they wanted. This site took off, and by January of 2009 Itunes had sold over six billion songs.

    The DirectTV HD DVR came out in 2004, this device allowed consumers to record shows and watch them at their own convenience. This device became extremely popular, and the idea of being able to watch shows at your own leaisure was extremely popular.

    FaceBook is a social interaction site that allows people to write posts, share lifeevents, and keep in touch with friends and relatives. FaceBook today is one of the most popular and most visited sites.
