FCC,AT&T,and Bell Towers established broadcast towers
In 1968 the FCC decided to increase the frequencies to allow research for better connections. The FCC worked together with AT&T and Bell Towers to establish broadcast towers. The towers were small with low power and covered a “cell” that was a few miles in radius, but actually covered a larger area. This allowed calls to pass from tower to tower. -

In 1990 Microsot releases Office to the public. Over the years Microsoft office has been updated and to date it inculdes Word, Powerpoint, Excel, OneNote, and Outlook. Today the student version which inculdes the main four applications cost $100, which I have for my Windows 8 laptop and the professional version, which inculdes everything is $400 for a one year subscription. Today most schools and workplaces use Microsoft office as their desktop applications. -

News Networks has said that over 700 million people visits Yahoo every 30 Days. It attracts over half a billion people every month. -

In 1995 Microsoft created the Internet Explorer it was made by a team of six people and was free of charge to any OS owners didn;t have to pay any royalties to Spyglassinc. which resulted in a law suit. In 1997 Netflix was created, it allowed you to rent movies and ship them to your mailbox and return it anytime. It was cheap and relaiable. Over the years Netflix started to allow you to watch movies at home off your moblie devices and TV. It changed the ways how we watch movies. Netflix has caused many Dvd rental companies to shut down like Blockbuster ad only a few companies remain while Netflix is expanding to everyone around the world. Soon the dvd will be the thing of the past. -

GPS wasn't released eariler because the U.S. thougth it would be a security threat. Once it was released the GPS allowed drivers, hikers, etc to naviagate them to places they don't know or how to get to. Now the GPS is on phones and allows turn by turn navigation. -

In 2000 AT&T introduces Text Messaging to the U.S. . It was a big hit so other phone carreirs wanted more phones that allowed to text. Now it's one of the largest ways to communicate around the world. It causes some bills to be high just from texting from people who send hundreds of texts per day. -

In 2001 Wikipedia was released and was free to public to create information and share around the world. Most people use Wikipedia to find information about something or someone fast. Students use it for homework, though anyone could add anything on Wikipedia so schools ruled Wikipedia wasn't reliable enough for students. Though must students still use it today. -

In 2002 the first phones came out that intorduced cameras bulit in them. The Nokia 7650 and the Sanyo SPC-5300.The Nokia phone boasted "a large 176x208 pixel colour display," according to a media release at the time. The Sanyo version offered three user-controlled tones, white balance and zoom. -

It is one of the largest mobile software right now and reports show that gobal smartphones led by Samsung was 64% in March 2013. Making it a success in the technology industry. Windows 8 Created
Microsoft has updated thier software from Windows 7 to Windows 8 in 2012. It wasn't released to the general public until October. Windows 8 is entirely different than Windows 7 and other companies software. It doesn't inculde that start button anymore but, a button or swish on your touch screen to control the settings and power. It is shown having tiles on the home screen where anyone can change them to their liking. And some tiles are live which moves and updates every minute.
