ILS appears

SourceAn ILS sytem is =an instrument approach an airplane uses in order to land under bad weather conditions. It provides precision lateral and vertical guidance to an airplane approaching and landing on a runway. It uses a combination of radio signals to provide a safe landing during IMC conditons in the airport where the airplane will land,like low ceilings,reduced visibility due to fog,rain,or blowing snow. An ILS approach is made when flying on IFR operation.

Z3 Computer is invented

The TX-0 was invented

SourceIt was a tix oh and was an early transistorized computer. It also contained 64K of 18-bit words of magnetic core energy. This computer was a platform for pioneering computer research and the development of hacking. It was a transitioned version of the whirlwind whihc was also built in Licoln's lab. The TX-0 was room-sized and was still faster than the Whirlwind which was much bigger.

FORTRAN is released

SourceAn imperative programming language is shown to the world. It was designed by John Backus in 1957. It is a popular language in the area of high performance computing.Fortran is still used today, the stable release was in 2008.

BASIC Is Invented

Source 2SourceA language that is easy to learn, and is made to be used by students at dartmouth college. The creators of BASIC were John George Kemeny and Thomas Eugene Kurtz. They created it because they wanted for students in fields other than math and science to be able to use computers.

LOGO Is Invented

SourceLOGO is a programming language developed by Seymour Papert that was meant to be a computer language for children.At first LOGO was a drawing program that would control what a mechanical turtle did. Originally it was made to teach concepts of programming related to LISP.

Arpanet- First Internet Invented

SourceThe Arpanet was the first network and was developed by the U.S. Department Of Defense. The network eventually turned into today's Internet and used TCP/IP protocol,which we still use today.

Kenbak-1 was invented

SourceAccording to the Computer History Museum it was the world's first Personal Computer. Only 40 of them were ever built and sold. Since it was invented before Micro-Processors came out it didn't have a CPU but had TTL Chips. It was sold for $750.00, it was an 8- bit machine offered 256 bytes of memory.

CP/M was released

SourceCP/M was a control program for computers released during the mid 1970's. It was a program which was used to program computers back then.It was designed by Gary Kildall.

C++

SourceA general programming language which has object-oriented and generic features for programming. It also provided with low-level memory manipulation. It's a compiled language with it being available on many platforms. It was designed by Bjarne Stroustrup about 32 years ago, it also influenced Java,Perl, and many other programming languages.

NSFNET was released

SourceIt was a network sponsored by the National Science Foundation in 1985. It was intended to promote research and education networking in the United States. At first it was intended to create links from researchers to the nation's NSF-funded supercomputing centers. It encouraged the public internet to be made which played part of the INternet Backbone.

Amiga 1000 is released

GPS is released

SourceGPS dands for Global Positioning System, whihc is a space-based naviagtion system that gives the user location and time anywhere on Earth where there is unobstructed line of sught to four or more GPS satellites. The design of the GPS is inspired partly by a ground-based radio-navigation systems,like LORAN and the Decca Navigator, which was developed in the early 1940's and use by the british during WWll.

Extra-300 is produced

SourceThe extra-300 is an aerobatic plane used for airshows and air rcaes. It was designed in 1987 by Walter Extra which was an aerobic pilot. It's currently used by Kirby Chambliss whihc flies for RedBull. It can reach a speed of 220 knots. Its flaps and ailerons allow it to do intensive flips and rolls on airshows.

Amiga 3000 is released

SourceThe Amiga 3000 is the 3rd generation of the Amiga series of personal computers. It contains a 32 bit CPU and has a memory capability of 2MB. It includes the Enhanced Chip Set whihc is a display enhancer for use with a VGA monitor. Like the earlier Amigas it contains the Amiga OS which is 32-bit.
