  • 1661- Rise of Kangxi

    Kangxi ruled from 1661-1722, and was a Confucian scholar. He supported the arts and strived to improve the empire. He succeeded in expanding the empire into Mongolia in Central Asia and conquered Taiwan.

  • 1735-1796 Rise of Qianlong

    Qianlong was the successor of Kangxi. He added Vietnam, Burma, and Nepal to the provinces of China.
