Solomon Radasky was fifteen at this time, because he was born on May 7th, 1910. Isak Borenstein was about seven years old at this time, because he was born on May 5th, 1918 in Radom, Poland. Joseph Sher was eight years old, being born on July 27, 1917 in Krzepice, Poland.

    When the war started, Shet was in the 77 Infantry Regiment in th Polish army, and he was captured near Radom. Eva and people in her village didn't believe the Germans would come, but she remembers the day they took over. Solomon owned a fur coat shop, when the war started. Isak was living on his family farm when the Germans came. Joseph remembered that when the German army came, they killed every tenth man is his town to scare them.

    Shet was placed in a POW labor camp while other Jews were sent to death camps. Eva remembered hearing about the Soviet Nonagression Pact, which caused the Russians to be in charge. Solomon was starting to worry about the safety of his family members. Isak was spending his time butchering animals in a Kosher fashion. Joseph was put in a ghetto and later had tried to go to Russia.

    Shet was forced to load coal for the Germans. Eva witnessed Germans on motorcycles killing people in the street. Solomon saw his mother and sister killed, and he was forced to shovel snow. Isak joined the Russian army and was captured by Germans. Joseph was forced to live in bad conditions at was terrorized by the guards.

    Shet was still living in rough condtions with little food. Eva's family was forced to walk 7 km to a ghetto. Solomon's family was deported, and his mother and sisters were sent to Treblinka. Isak was imprisoned, and he was beaten daily. Most of Joseph's ghetto including his family was sent to Treblinka, and he was sent to a smaller ghetto.

    Shet was given special treatment which probably helped him survive. Germans started deporting Jews in Eva's ghetto, but Eva escaped and ran away. Solomon was in Warsaw during the Ghetto Uprising and was shot in the ankle. Isak was placed in a labor camp which probably saved his life. Joseph was placed in a slave labot camp making German ammunition.

    Shet was often beaten and hungry and he was finding it hard to survive. Eva was rounded up to work in Germany, and she disguised herself as a Polish girl. Solomon was taken to Auschwitz and put to work. Isak survived a bombing of his camp. Josephwas barely hanging on, and he and his wife didn't think they would make it.

    Shet's camp was liberated by the Russians. The Germans withdrew from the area, and the Russians came in, and Eva protected the German farmers from the Russians. Solomon was put on a train, and their train was captured and liberated by the Americans. Isak was taken back into the Russian army, and he escorted POWs back to Russia. Joseph was liberated, and he went to hide in the woods in fear of German reprisals.
