YouTube was created February 2005. November 2006 Google purchased YouTube for $1.65 million dollars. As of August 2018, the website is ranked as the second-most popular site in the world, according to Alexa Internet, just behind Google. As of May 2019, more than 500 hours of video content are uploaded to YouTube every minute.
