Imperialism
The ages of imperialism started around the years 1700 when emperors started to conquer other lands to expand their empire. Lots of wars raged in these times for land, resources or just for power. -
Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was a political protest by a group called Sons of Liberty to protest against the taxation without representation. This means that the government was taxing the people in high amounts, and they didnt give them anything in return. In consequence, the Sons of Liberty dumped around 300 chests full of tea in the river to protest. -
Tennis Court Oath
This action, taken place in a tennis court, was an oath made by 576 members of the third estate. The oath was important because it was the first time that the third estate stood in opposition against their King, Luis XVI. -
Reign of Terror
The reign of terror, was a period of time that ocurred after the French revolution, that was started by the rivalry between two political groups called the Girondins and the Jacobins. The enemies of the two groups were decapitated with a machine called "The Guillotine" which sliced the victim's head right off. -
The Self-crowning of Napoleon
The coronation of the Emperor of France was a very different coronation from all others. Napoleon crowned himself the Emperor while the Pope Pius VII was watching. This started the era of Napoleon Bonaparte. -
Industrial Revolution
The industrial revolution was a major change in Eurpoe and in the whole world. It began around 1780's but was really felt until 1820's. This transition from going to hand made techniques, to machines that did the work for humans was a big step in the history of the world which meant more food, more clothes, more transportation and obviously, more weapons. -
World War I
World War I was the first war in history that involved countries from all over the world. This war began with the assasination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand which was very important leader, was killed in Bosnia by a group called "Black Hand". The war was divided by two sides, the Allied Powers which consisted of France, UK, Russia, USA etc. And the Central powers which consisted of the German Empire, Austria-Hungary and the Ottoman Empire. The war ended in 11 of November 1918.
