The First Fleet lands in Port Jackson and the British settlement in Australia begins. Over the next 10 years they fight with the aboriginals. And also the Tasmanian Aboriginal people are resettled on Flinders Island without success.

The first board for the protection of aborigines is established in Victoria. The Governor can now order the removal of any child to be taken to an industrial school or reformatory (alternative to prison). Northern Territory Aboriginal children under the age of 18 can be taken from their families.

The Constitution states that Aboriginal People will not be counted in the census and that the Commonwealth can now make any laws relating to any race of people In Australia with the exception of Aborigines.

The NSW Aborigines Protection Board is now allowed to remove Aboriginal children without a court hearing. In 1940 the power is repealed when the NSW Board is renamed the Aborigines Welfare Board.

The NSW Aborigines Protection Board loses its power to remove the Indigenous children. The Board is renamed the Aborigines Welfare Board and is abolished in 1969.
