    Steve Wozniak was born in San Jose, California to Margaret Elaine and Jacob Wozniak. He belongs to a mixed Polish, German, Irish and English ancestry. From a young age he took an interest to electronics and computers and was designing software by the time he was a teen.

    Wozniak graduated from Homestead High School in 1968. In 1969 he returned from University of Colorado Boulder after being expelled for using the schools computer system to send prank messages. During this time he was teaching himself more and more about hacking until he eventually transferred to UC Berkeley in 1971.

    Before Wozniak worked for Apple he was employed at Hewlett-Packard where he designed and created calculators, it was here that he befriended Steve Jobs. Jobs worked for an arcade company at the time and was assigned a task to reduce the amount of chips needed in a circuit board. He went to Wozniak for help and they split the reward.

    In 1975 Wozniak began designing and developing the Apple I which is what brought him most of his fame. On June 29th of that year the first working prototype was completed.

    After the success of the Apple I Wozniak designed the second gen of Apple Computers, the Apple II. This computer had the ability to display computer graphics, had a built in programming language and was an overall huge improvement. The Apple II computer went on to become one of the first highly successful mass-produced personal computers.

    From 1979 to 2018 (present day) Wozniak has received many important and impressive awards. Some of these include the National Medal of Technology, being inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame, and even having streets named after him in his home town.
  • Plane Crash

    Wozniak was piloting a plane when soon after takeoff the plane stalled and he crashed into the runway. Many people were killed as a result of this and it took Wozniak two years to recover.
  • Music Festivals

    In 1982 and 1983 Wozniak sponsored and founded two US Festivals to celebrate the expansion of technology. After loosing some money from them not turning profit he went back to Apple to work.

    After Wozniak's departure from Apple he began to invent and think of new things. That same year he left he founded CL 9 which developed and brought the first programable universal remote to the market. In 2001 he founded another business called Wheels of Zeus (WOZ) creating wireless GPS technology. Finally in 2006 he founded Acquicor Tech which was a holding company for startup tech companies.

    Wozniak decided to leave Apple after having a delicate relationship with the company over the last five years. He said he missed the old days when it was less managerial and more fun. By the end of 1985 Wozniak left apple and sold most of his stock.

    After Wozniak's departure from Apple he began to invent and think of new things. That same year he left he founded CL 9 which developed and brought the first programable universal remote to the market.
  • Remarriage

    Wozniak and Candi Clark had three children, Jesse, Sara, and Gary; they were divorced in 1987. In 1989, he met Suzanne Mulkern, a mother of three, who shared his shyness, love of children, and sense of humor. They married in 1990.
