Stages of life

  • Period: 1 CE to 3

    Infancy

    Birth – the event where the baby arrives from the mother’s body Baby – a newly born human Infant – a very young child. (usually 0-18 months)
    Toddler – a young child beginning to walk Potty training – the process of learning to use the restroom
  • Period: 4 to 12

    Childhood

    Kindergarten – The first grade of school for children Elementary School – The beginner levels of school (grades 1-5) Middle School – The intermediate levels of school (grades 6-8)
    Pre-teen – before becoming a teenager (approx. ages 11 & 12) Slumber party – an invitation for friends to spend the night at your house
  • Period: 13 to 21

    Adolescence

    Teenager – ages 13-18 High School - The advanced levels of school (grades 9-12) Legal Adult – 18 years of age College – The post-high school levels of education including Bachelors, Masters, and PhDs Graduation –Successfully completing a final level of High School or College Job Hunting – The process of searching and applying for jobs Loans – Money borrowed from the bank
    Dating – In a romantic relationship with someone
  • Period: 21 to 60

    Adulthood

    Engagement – the time of preparing to be married Marriage – A life-committed relationship with another person that starts with a wedding Raise (Children) – To be responsible for and help children in their growth House hunting
    Invest – to place money in stocks, retirement accounts, and other options with the hopes of growing the money
    A Raise – Being given more money at your job
    Promotion – Being given a higher position at your job
    Vacation – time off from your job for rest and fun
  • Period: 39 to 60

    Middle age

    The middle period of adulthood, when people usually have a stable life.
  • Period: 60 to 100

    Old age

    Retirement – officially stopping employment for the rest of your life Estate planning – making legal plans to handle your finances after your death
    Death – the end of life Funeral – the time of honoring the life of the dead person Cremation – the process of completely burning the body for disposal Burial – the process of placing the dead body in the ground
