    Eunice got to see how badly people with disabilities were treated. She heard the others call them "retarded" and see how they were left out, so she decided to do something about it. What she did was make a day camp for the people with disabilities to go to.

    Eunice Kennedy Shriver created the special olympics so that people with disabilities could participate in things like that. She did not like how they were left out so she created something specifically made for those with disabilities.

    The first ever Summer Olympics were held in Chicago. There were over 1000 athletes from all over the world. The Olympics consisted of athletics, hockey and aquatics.
