    The Braille Typewriter was invented by Frank Hall, superintendent of the Illinois Institution for the Education of the Blind, in 1892. The typewriter although was not introduced to the general public until 1912 in Illinois.

    Guide Dogs were not utilized until the end of the 1920's. They were first used solely for the blind so that they could be very independent.

    Wheelchairs were first used for the military personal who lost limbs in war. The model that we are familiar with today was first introduced in 1932 by Harry Jennings.
