    A group of parents met at a conference in Chicago to create an organization to provide support and assistance to children with disabilities, soon became the Learning Disabilities Association of America (LDA)
  • Mills v. Board of Education

    Mills v. Board of Education
    Court Ruling that all students with disabilities are entitled to a free public education, regardless of their backgrounds or the severity of their disability.
  • Rehabilitation Act of 1973

    Authorizes states to provide resources and trainings to individuals with disabilities regardless of their backgrounds.
  • FERPA

    FERPA
    Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 was signed into law to provide privacy to student records, such as class schedules, grades, and medical history.
