    Bartolomeu Dias was Portuguese explorer who was looking for trade routes. He led the first European expedition around Cape of Good Hope at the southern tip of Africa. This new found route led to many new trade routes between Europe and Asia. Later in his life on a voyage to Cape of Good Hope, Bartolomeu and his crew saw Brazil.
