    They heard of The Seven Cities of Gold, so they were sent to check out the land to see if it was worth Spain's time. Sadly, Indians killed Esteban because he wanted beautiful women and respect from them since he was a medicine man. Fray Marcos reported that he saw a sparkly city filled with gold!

    Coronado searched for Cibola and Quivera, and The Turk was his guide for the 2nd part of his journey. But The Turk dug his own grave and was strangled for lying to Coronado about Quivera. But he didn't find any gold, so he reported that Texas wasn't worth exploring. Spain stopped exploring for 150 years.
