    Christopher Columbus
    Christopher Columbus found American while searching for India. He said the earth was round wile the others said it was flat. He set sail in August 3, 1492. He came from Spain when he reached America. Christopher also brought over diseases to America. Queen Isabella and King Ferninad gave Columbus three ships. He also mistakenly called the people Indians.

    Alonzo Alvarez de Pineda

    Pineda commanded a Spanish expedition sailed along the Gulf of Mexico coastline from Florida to Cabo Rojo, Mexico, in 1519. He was the first European to explore and map the Gulf of Mexico. He was hoping to find a water passage from the Gulf to the orient. Ships, men, and money for the expedition was provident by the governor of Jamacia. During his 9-month expedition he mapped nearly 800 miles of shore line including the rivers and bays that emptied into the Gulf. He never returned to Jamacia.

    The first permanent settlement of Europeans in Texas was the mission of Corpus Christi de la Ysleta, founded near El Paso by friars in 1682.

    Green Dewitt is granted permission to settle 400 families in Texas.
  • Hernan Cortes

    Cortes was the Spanish explorer who overthrew the Aztec empire and won Mexico for the crown of Spain. He first served as a soldier in in expedition of Cuba and 1511. He ignored orders and traveled to Mexico with about 500 and 11 ships and 1519, setting is sights on overthrowing ruler Montezuma ll in Aztec capital of Tenochitilian. The Aztecs eventually drove the Spanish from Tenochitilian, but Cortez return to defeat the natives and take the city in 1521. He died in 1547.
  • Panfilo de Narvaez

    Narvis was born in Spain it was a Spanish conquest adore. He first in Berks to Jamaica in 1510 as a soldier. In 1520 he was sent to Mexico with the objective of stopping the invasion by Cortez. He was outmanned by Cortes and taken prisoner. After a couple of years in captivity in Mexico he returned to Spain where he was authorized to explore and colonize Florida. In 1527 Narveas embarked for Florida with five shifts and 600 men. A storm hit and Narveaz was never seen again.
