    Columbus' First Voyage
    Columbus sailed for Spain to find a weatern route to India but wound up in the Amricas or "The New World". Sharing the discovery of the New World led to futher exploration.

    Cortes Voyage

    Cortes Voyage
    Cortes sailed for Spain to conquer the gold and treasure of the Aztecs. He explored Mexico and conquered Montezuma, the leader of the Aztec Empire. After, he conquered the Aztec Empire and Mexico without permission but did bring back nighty nine tones of gold, which sparked more exploration for the Americas'.

    Pineda's Voyage

    Pineda's Voyage
    Pineda sailed for Spain to try and find a water passage to the Pacific Ocean. He mapped eight hundred miles of Western Florida to vera Cruz Mexicio while exploring. This encouraged futher exploratiojn along the gulf coast that led to colonization by the Spaniards and other Europeans.

    De Vaca sailed for Spain. He started in Florida to find gold and his leader was Narvez. De Vaca and three hundred of his men were left in Florida so they bulit five boats to try and sail back to Cuba.

    De Vaca discovers Texas
    De vaca and his men crashed landed on Galveston leaving only eighty sailors surviving. The Karankawas nursed them back to health and took them in for four year. Narvez dies and during the first winter, so do most of his men. De Vaca got seperated from the remaining sailors and worked as a trader and healer.

    Fray Marcos and Estean Journey

    Fray Marcos and Estean Journey
    They sailed for Spain to evaluate the North of Texas. The plan was that Esteban was to set out white crosses if it was ok as a sign to Fray Marcos, a priest sent to turn Indians Christian. One member of an advanced party reported seeing the seven cities of Cibola. Esteban went into the city demanding food and women and was killed. Fray Marcos, not getting the white cross sign, climbed a hill and reported seeing the seven cities of Cibola which led to the exploration of Conquistado Coronado.

    Moscoso's Expedition
    They sailed for Spain and explored Pinedas map which is Florida to Texas. De Soto was the leader but Moscoso takes over when De Soto died at the Missippi River from a diease. They found no gold which gives Spain the backup they need to end Texas Exploration.

    Coronado's Expedition

    Coronado's Expedition
    Coronado sailed for Spain to look for the Seven cities of Cibola. When he arrived it ended by being a Zumi Indian Village,so Fray Mrcos ,knowing he will be punished, disapears. Another Indian named 'The Turk" led the Spanish away and told them of a richer city named Quivera. Along the way they dicovered Palo Duro and the Grand Canyon. When they arrive they find nothing and kill him. This is important because Coroado gives a bad report and Spain wont spend major money on Texas for 150 years.
