    Pineda was the firft person to map the Gulf Coast from Florida to Texas. He made a report of the region. He is important because his map of the coast led to others exploring the land on the Gulf Coast.

    The leader was Desoto. The purpose of his adventure was to search for gold. He discovered the Mississippi river instead. He is important because he gave the same basic report that Coronado gave. Spain could not return for 150 years because of it.

    Coronado was looking for Gold. He explored Florida to Texas. His importance is that he reported "Do not go to Texas. The land offers nothing for the spanish. There is no gold, it has harsh land, and has some difficult Indians. The outcome was that the report stopped expeditions for 150 years
