Picaboo! Was the name of the picture sharing app started in the summer of 2011 that would be renamed Snapchat in the 2011 fall. The app continues to be one of the top sources of communication worldwide almost 8 years later. -

In 2005 it was reported roughly 2% of Americans ages 65 and older were using social media. Fast forward ten years to 2015 and it was reported a jump of 33% to what is now 35% of Americans 65 and older use social media. A drastic jump for people who did not grow up in this era. -

Since 2015, social media users have increased by over 50%. There are currently 864 million social media users via mobile device, and every 14 seconds a new user profile is created. Scary, huh?
