Slavery was becoming a huge success for the United States that the U.S constitution wrote that it forbade banning the importation of persons that citizens claimed were part of their "property."

Once the 19th century started to come around, the Northern states decided to abolish almost and if not all of slavery. This would created tension between the South to decide if future states were free or slaved.

The Civil War ensued between the North and South of the United States over the debate of free and slaved states. This would allow then President Lincoln to proclaim the freedom of slaves in the south.

After the Civil War was over there was a need for rebuilding of structures and society all together. Andrew Johnson presided as President, because of Lincoln's death but didn't change the stereotype of African Americans. It did blossom the creation of the 13th amendment which made slavery illegal in the U.S.

Most of the focus on slavery is geared towards sex trafficking involving minors, foreign workers being abused work, and children in Africa working regular jobs but are secretly being kept hidden to the public that they're in danger.
