  • Underground Railroad

    Underground Railroad
    The Underground Railroad was believed to be started in 1787. the reason for this is beacuse a man name Travis T. Hopper started to organize a system of helping and aiding fugitive slaves escape slavery. The Underground Railroad was all over the world it wasnt in ine place. It was a system of people helping slaves and fugitves slaves escape slavery. These people were called station masters.
  • John Brown

    John Brown
    john brownJohn Brown was a very famous abolitiionist for his time. He kead the raid on Harpers Fairy. The raid on Harpers Fairy was to get the arsenal and get the weapons and aupplies. He was also famous for being a station master. He own a farm house in the north and would hide slaves and aid them escaping the thingncalled slavery. John brown only lived to be 59 and died in December 2, 1859 of being hung for his action of the riad of Harpers Fairy.
  • Missouri Compromise

    Missouri Compromise
    This was a compromise between the anit-slavery and the pro-slavery. It was a question of weather or not Missouri should be free state or a slave state. During this Compromise the 36-30 line was established. This law stated that any land north of this line was free territory which ment that slaves that ranaway could be free in the north. Any thing below it was slave territory and could have slaves.
  • Nat Turners Rebellion

    Nat Turners Rebellion
    In Virginia Nat Turner lead up to 60-70 slaves in a mob like group killing every white plantation farmer they came across. Nat turner and his group ended up killing about 200 whites including children. Nat Turner had been put up for bounty for $500. Later being found under a pile of lumber in a hole. Nat Turner was put in jail until his exicution by being hung.

    Compromise of 1850
    In 1850 California wanted to become a state. Which meant the balance between the free and slave states would be ruined. This is what started the whole compromise. Henry Clay was one of the most invovled person in the Compromise of 1850. The Compromise consisted of five laws.
  • Bleeding Kansas

    Bleeding Kansas
    The time peroid the Bleedding Kansas took place was 1854 to 1860. It took place in Kansas and Missouri the turn out was the Abolitionist won the fight. The leaders or Generals were John brown for the abolitionist. For the slave owners William Quantrill. The reason for the fight was to see if Kansas woud be admitted into the statehood.
  • Kansas-Nebraska Act

    Kansas-Nebraska Act
    The Kansas-Nebraska Act took place at The original purpose of the Kansas–Nebraska Act was to open new farms and make the Mideastern Transcontinental Railroad. But another qeustion was if they were to be a free state or a slave state. Steven Douglas said,"It would be decided on soverignity." This event lead pto the Bloody Fight in Kansas.
  • Dred Scott Case

    Dred Scott Case
    The Dred Scott case was a question of eithier he was to be freed, or if was to stay a slave. But as the debate went on the Missouri Compromise of 1820 was brought up tobe unconstitutional. So that ment that Dred Scott was not a free man in the 2 trials that were held for his fredom.
  • Presidential Election of 1860

    Presidential Election of 1860
    This election was between Abraham Lincoln and John C. Breckinridge. Lincoln carried 18 states and 180 electoral votes. Breckinridge had carried 11 states and 72 electoral votes. Lincoln was a Republican, and Breckinridge was a Southern Demacrat.
  • Attack on Fort Sumpter

    They attacked the Fort, which started the civil war.
