  • Nat Turners Rebbelion

    The Slave rebellion happened in Virginia on Aug 22,1831.
    Nat Turner was a Slave preacher and started the rebellion and executed by hanging.
    white owners had fear.

    They were not allowed to vote.
    They had black codes.
    They were not allowed to read.
    They are not allowed to write.
    They are not allowed to buy.
    They are not allowed to sell items.they are not allowed to have guns.

    Fighting from “Bleeding Kansas” spread to Washington D.C.
    John Brown killed pro slavery men.

    Dred Scott Case
    Dred Scott lived 12 years in freed territory ,so Dred thought he should be free.
    1857 was the Dred Scott Case.
    The Court said that Blacks are Property.
    The court said the 5th amendment that property cannot be taken away.

    October 16 1859 John Brown attacked Harpers Ferry,Virginia.
    He believed god wanted him to Harpers Ferry
    do what he did, but he was unsuccessful.
    John Brown was caught and he was hung on december 2 1859.
    John Brown’s action helped start the civil war.
