They come up with the 36-30 line to tell what would be pro and anti slavery states. the sstate north of the 36-30 would be anti slavery or free states. while anything south of the 36-30 line would be a pro slavery state

    was the when nat turner stated in virgina with the travis plantation were travis was a slave He killed the whole travis fNat Turner and his followers. at the end of the rebellion 60 plantation owner were killed. Turner was then jailed and tried in court and found guilty and then hanged. while there a local lawyer Thomas Gray inerviewed him and the later wrote the book Confessions of Nat Turner which say the Turner said "My object was to carry terror and devastation wherever we went".

    The compromise of 1850 had five part. The fijrst part was that California was allowed to become a free state. Secind it decide what to do with the lands that have been won in the Mexican war this land was split into territories which would vote in wherther or not to allow slavery there. Third part was that washinton D.C slave tead was no longer allowed. but slavery were still allowed there. Fourth part of it told the bordrer of Texas was to be boughten for ten million dollars.

It didn't matter if the slave made it to a free state or not. if you didn't cacht the slavey you can be fined or jailed. Also judges were paid to send runaways back. The extra money ment many free blacks were sent to slavery

    After the fugitive slave act the Underground Railroad had to change because slaves can no longer goest go to the north. Slaves had to go to canada to be truely safe from going back to their owns. they can be turned in in the north no matter if they were there before or after the act.

    It allowed poepls in the territoris of Kansas adn Nebrasksa to decide for themselves whether or not to allow slavery within thier bords. The act served to repeal the Missour Compromise of 1820 which prohibited slavery north of latitude 36-30.

    Abraham Lincoln won the election of 1860. Out of the 303 electoral votes, Abraham Lincoln had 180, Although Lincoln won the election, he did not win the popular vote. But since he had received so many electoral votes he won. Almost all of the North had voted for Lincoln and not one south state vote. This angered the south so much that South Carolina seceded.

    After South Carolina seceded from the Union, Lincoln sent supplies to fort Sumter. In the morning of April 12, 1861, The confederates troops fired upon Fort Sumter. It waswas not hard to overrun becuase it was surrounded in a circle.By forts and batteries. Because fort Sumter was located in the Charleston Harbor.
