    If someone who was not Christian and was brought by land or sea (in a ship or by land) they would be known as a slave to the state .It made it harder for any of the foreign people to become free if they were not Christian , classifying themself as a slave .

    South Carolina Slave Code
    If any slave are one who were a slave was to be sold in any auction or something and were born as a slave , would always be prounounced as a slave through their life span . For slaves in the South Carolina , this slave code made it rather hard for any slave to become free since they were bound as slaves by birth . They were not able to free themselves from slavery by money except by escaping .

    If a slave were to strike his master or any of the siblings or anyone that was related to the master , would be sentenced to suffer punishments for harming or bruising the person . In Lousiana , they had harsh slave codes that made sure that no rebellion or problems would occurr . They feared what would happen if this were to cause .
  • The New Jersey and Virginia Plan

    The New Jersey and Virginia Plan
    These two plans led to the way of how states were able to represent themselves in Congress . Since these were issued out , it led them to think on what to do with those who were slaves and how they would represent in Congress . The people that were involved in these two plans were William Patterson , who brought up the New Jersey plan , which gave states with only a limited amount of votes compared to the Virginia Plan.
    The Virginia Plan was brought up by Edmund Randolph .

    Congress was able to issue a ban on the slave trade in 1808 . The Slave Trade Compromise was a way for Congress to be able to get a levy on the issue of slavery by stopping a bit of the spread of slavery . The stopping was not full since it still allowed the South to obtain slave states through the compromises that are created by Congress in order to keep representation balanced in Congress .

    An agreement between the northern and the southern states to see where slaves stand on the issue of what the representation was for slaves. Congress passed this compromise in order to make sure that states such as Virginia would not get too much power in representation since they have one of the largest amounts of slaves .

    The Missouri Compromise of 1820 helped Congress decide on how to deal with the problem of adding the state without upsetting the balance the currently had with slave and free states.
    This compromise ended up addign Missouri and Maine to the nation making it equal again for the representation .

    A free person was not able to write a pass or anything like that for a slave or they would end up facing a penalty . This Alabama Slave Code was very important to the fact that even a free human being was not able to free a slave when they wanted to . They would end up being punished for doing that .

    The Fugitive Slave Act was issued into power as one of the factors of getting the compromise passed . It allowed the Southerners to be able to capture their slaves again if they were to escape to the North or anywhere else . It was either they returned the slaves or face a fine or go to jail . The Fugitive Slave Act made it very difficult for slaves to be able to escape from their masters since now the North were forced to abide to the law and give any information about any runaway slaves .

    It allowd California to be a free a state into the union as one of the representetives for free states. The Compromise was specifically based on the North and the South , for California to either be free or a slave stste since the Missouri Compromise that was created , became a problem for deciding what California would end up being since the Missouri Compromise split California up in half .The Compromise of 1850 allowed for te North to have California but the South got the Fugitive Slave Act .
  • The Kansas Nebraska Act

    The Kansas Nebraska Act
    It allowed states to be able to vote for their station in the free or slave states . The states were able to vote for the free or slave states sanction by majority vote in the states , but i caused a migration of many other people from different states to come to the state taking the vote in order to get their side passed . It soon became a catastrophe since it led to conflicts with other people from different states to come in to the state that was new and vote for its section for free or not.

    District of Columbia Slave Code
    The slaves were able to sell themselves free from slavery . Which made it less harsher for the slaves in the District of Columbia , this slave code showed how the District of Columbia viewed slaves since they allowed them to sell themselves free from slavery .
