A Singapore company Trek Technology first sold the USB flash drive (at the time it was called a ThumbDrive) to the public in late of 2000. It was a small portable storage device that used flash memory. They stored between 2 and 64 gigabytes of memory at the time of release. It could be plugged into a USB port of a computer or laptop to store data, files, application's etc... It was used to replace or to be an alternative to floppy disk drives. -

The first iPod was a massive hit for apple the music player had a two-inch black and white screen, a scroll wheel that had four buttons and was able to hold a 1000 songs on 5GB of storage. The iPod was small and everyone usually kept it in their pockets or held it in their hands, so it was very easy to carry around. A bunch of knockoffs were inspired shortly after its release and due to its success it was able to pave way for creation of the iPhone and iPad. -

The Apple iPhone was probably the biggest invention of the 2000's it changed the smartphone industry. The first iPhone didn't have a keyboard instead it had a large touchscreen which made it operational through the touch of a finger, a home button on the front, a single rear camera, most of the functions of a phone and had access to several applications that had many functions. This resulted in the creation of the App Store and this also popularize the use of apps.
