On November 8, 1933, exactly a year before the tragic event, Elser was attending the annual commemoration. Since it was an annual event, Elser thought it was the perfect opportunity to put his plan into action!

Each year since November 8, 1933, Hitler had come to the same beer hall and delivered a 2 hour speech, starting at 8:30. On this day, Hitler had begun his speech earlier than normal instead of the usual 2 hour speech, he only spoke for 1 hour. Thirteen minutes later Elser’s bomb went off killing 8 Nazis and injuring over 80.
