    started out with innkeepers to hold English soldier, then turned into every citizen in Boston had to house one if needed. It was a time of peace and colonist felt it was violating their freedoms.
  • Boston Massacre

    British soldiers opened fire on a crowd of colonist and killed 5 people
  • Boston Tea Party

    Sons of Liberty dump 1-3 millions dollars worst of tea into the Boston Harbor
  • Boston Port Bill

    Great Britain closed the port of Boston until the tea party was paid for, many people lost their jobs (merchants, rope makers, fishermen)
  • Massachusetts Government Act

    no more self-government in Massachusetts, the governor. was appointed by the King
  • Administration of Justice Act

    If a British officer commits a capital crime they need to sent to England for trial. All witnesses need to go as well, most did not because it is a 6-month round trip and they would lose money.
  • Quebec Act

    Allowed for self-governing in Canada, made the colonist very angry
  • 1st continental congress

    in response to the intolerable acts, continued boycotting British goods and started discussing how to keep their rights.
  • Lexington and Concord

    A militia forms in Boston, King wants to stop them, he ended up losing because of the spy network.
  • 2nd Continental Congress

    Writes Olive Branch Petition to the King to stop the violence that has taken place, repeal the acts, and to define the colonial rights. King thinks that it is a joke.
