    George Washington
    He was the Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army. His strategy helped the revolutionary forces win at Saratoga and Yorktown. He was born on Feb. 22, 1732 and died on Dec. 14, 1799. Patriot.
  • Paul Revere

    Paul Revere
    He alerted the Colonial militia about the aproach of the British before the Battles of Lexington and Concord. He was Born on Jan. 1, 1735 and died on May 10, 1818. Patriot.
  • John Hancock

    John Hancock
    He helped the colonial cause by giving a lot of his wealth to the colonies for supplies to fight against the British. He has the largest signature on the Declaration of Independence. He was born on Jan. 22, 1737 and died on Oct. 8, 1793. Patriot.
  • Benedict Arnold

    Benedict Arnold
    He was a Major General for the Continental Army before betraying America and switching to the British Army and becoming a Brigadier General for them. He was born on Jan. 14,1741 and died on June 14, 1801. Loyalist.
  • Thomas Jefferson

    Thomas Jefferson
    He served in the Continental Congress during the Revolutionary War. He wrote the Declaration of Independence in 1776. He was born on Apr. 13, 1743 and died on July 4, 1826. Patriot.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    The Boston Massacre was when British soldiers killed five people and injured six others. The colonists were threatening them and throwing things at the British soldiers and so they fired into the crowd. This took place on King Street in Boston, Mass. This showed that the colonists would not put up with the British anymore and wanted their independence from the king and church.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    A political protest by the Sons of Liberty that was a defiance towards the Tea Act. This took place on a ship in the Boston Harbor from the East India Company. This was a turning point for the American people against British taxes.
  • Battle of Lexington and Concord

    Battle of Lexington and Concord
    The battles were fought in Middlesex County, Province of Massachusetts Bay on April 19, 1775. The Americans won the battle and this showed the British that we were more than just a militia and rebels, but an American army that should not be looked down on as weak.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    Battle of Bunker Hill
    The battle took place on Breed's Hill and on June 17, 1775. The British won this battle becuase the American army didn't have enough ammo. This battle showed that the Americans would not give up because of this loss and a little inexperience so they would get more trained troops to help fight the battles.
  • Declaration of Independence

    The Declaration of Independence was a document that basically stated the independence from Great Britian as the United States of America. Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration and was signed in Philadelphia. This announced and explained the separation from Great Britian and allowed the United States of America a free country.

    This event was George Washington's plan to sneak attack the Hessian mercenaries on Christmas night at Trenton. They crossed the Delaware River to attack the Hessians and this showed the determination in Washington and the American Army.
  • Battle of Trenton

    This battle was in Trenton, New Jersey on December 26, 1776. The American Army won the battle claiming a huge victory for the Americans. This victory inspired the American soldiers to keep on going through the rest of the war.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    Battle of Saratoga
    This battle took place south of Saratoga, New York on September 19 and Octobber 7, 1777. The Americans defeated the British army giving the Americans another decisive win over the British and continuing to push through the war.
  • Valley Forge

    Valley Forge
    Site of the American Continental Army camp during the winters of 1777-1778. George Washinbgton was looking after his men and tried to find them shelter, but their was none around. It took place in Pennsylvania and many soldiers died and were malnourished during the winter and many left the army becuase of this terrible winter.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    This battle took place in Yorktown, Virginia on October 19, 1781. The American forces won this battle and it was the last major battle of the Revolutionary War and it erupted with excitment all over the American colonies for the last major and important win over the British.
