  • The Proclamation

    The Proclamation
    The British Parliment banned colonists from settling west of the Applachian Mountains. The Colonists didn't think it was fair, and thought they should be able to live where they want.
  • End of the French and Indian War

    End of the French and Indian War
    The French and British were boardering each other with land in the colonies. Also, French built forts on the British land that led to the British being fed up with them and starting a war. Also, British claimed land in the Ohio River Valley.The Albany plan of Union is rejected, and the war brakes out. The battle of Quebec is a huge loss for the French, and led to the French losing the war. After the war, the French lose all land in America. One good thing is that the colonists develop unity.

    Sugar Act
    The Parliment put a big taxation on imports such as sugar and molasses. This was the start of "Taxation without representation." The colonists were very mad and protests started.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    The British authorized colonists to house soldiers. The Colonists thought it wasn't fair, so they complained and even boycotted.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    Taxation on diplomas, playing cards, contracts, and newspapers were made by the British Government. The colonists disagreed, then boycotted, and "sons of liberty" was born.
  • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act
    Britian put taxes on imports to the the colonies. Examples of the taxed items were lead, tea, glass, and other goods. The colonists thought this was completely unfair, and tried to smuggle goods into the colonies.
  • Intolerable Acts

    Intolerable Acts
    The British closed the Boston Port untill the colonists payed for the tea they dumped out of the boat. Also, trials for crimes would now be held in Britian unfairly. Lastly, they banned town meetings and strengthened the Quartering act
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    There was a big riot and the rebel mob was protesting against the British Soldiers. There were many people taunting, and yelling "shoot" at the soldiers. The soldiers were scared and thought it was their captain yelling shoot so they discharged their wepons killing 5 men, including former slave named Crispus Attucks. This caused a big flair in tempers, and would end up making the colonists very angry.

    Tea Act
    The colonies would only be able to get their tea from British East India co. The tea is taxed at 3 pernce a pound from this act. Also, this act gave the British a tea monoply.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    90,000 pounds of tea were dumped off of a British import boat by 116 colonists who dressed up as Mohawk Native Americans
  • First Continental Congress

    First Continental Congress
    This was a meeting to decide on how to react to the British taxes and other acts like the intolerable acts. They decided to demand repeals of the act, right to tax, train militias, and boycott goods.
  • Paul Revere's Ride

    Paul Revere's Ride
    On the night of April 18, 1775 Paul Revere and two other men named Samuel Prescott and Billy Dawes rode through the towns of Massachussets on their horses. On this ride, they were yelling and alrming the people that "the British regulars were coming."
  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord
    Otherwise known as "the shot heard around the world," this was the first battle of the Revolutionary war. The British gathered 700 troops to seize munitions from Concord, but there were minute men were ready. The British fired and the war started.
