  • The Sugar Act

    The Sugar Act
    The sugar act was passed by George Greenville in 1764 hoping to reduce the number of colonists smuggling. This act placed a tax on products that have never been taxed before. Anyone accused or that have violated the act was not tried at colonial cour but vice-admiralty court. This act contributed to the road to revolution because the merchant's profits were slowly decreasing because of this act.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    The stamp act was passed in 1765 that taxed all printed documents such as newspapers, wills, and playing cards. A stamp on the document would be placed on it saying that the document had been paid for. This had been the first Taxes that effected the colonist directly, it did not make them happy. The colonists made a resistance called The Sons Of Liberty to protest the stamp act.
  • Quartering act

    Quartering act
    American colonists were forced to house British soldiers and feed them in their homes. This made the colonists madder because they already didn't like the British and now they are forced to pay more money for food and other household products.
  • Townshend Acts

    Townshend Acts
    The Townshend acts where passes 1767. This act taxed all imported goods that came from Britain like glass, paint, tea, and paper. This did not make colonists happy. One man stood up against it and his name was Samuel Adams. He was one of the founders of the sons of liberty and he united the colonies and had them boycott all British goods.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    The Boston Massacre happened after the Townshend acts were established and it rose the tension between the British and the colonist. a group of Rhode Island colonists rushed a British ship and burned it to the water. After that king, George sent a bunch of red coats to kill suspects that had done the attack n the ship. This brought the colonies together and started to make making communication centers and networks to communicate with each other.
  • Intolerble Act

    Intolerble Act
    This act was passed in 1774 by King George That shut down the Boston Harbor. this made the colonist mad because that's where their main source of resource ships come from and send products out.
  • The first Continental Congress

    The first Continental Congress
    56 political officials met and made a decoloration of colonial rights. This document defended the colonist's rights to run there own affairs. it also stated that if British force was used the colonists would fight back.
