  • Treaty of Paris

    France gave up all its territories in mainland North America to England, the colonist wanted the land. They wanted to settled in there to trade.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    British parliament announce that no settlement can take place west of the Appalachian Mountains. The Native Americana didn't like the British rule.
  • Sugar Act

    Tax on importing sugar(molasses), wine, and coffee. Already had Molasses Tax. The colonists were not happy with British controlled the taxation in colonies without asking for colonists opinions.
  • Quartering Act

    Colonists needed to supply British troops with living place, bedding, food, beer, cider and rum. Most soldiers lived in public buildings, but when they are away from cities they need to live in private homes. The colonists are furious, they thought this was an attempt to limit freedom. Finally, they take the soldiers away.
  • Stamp Act

    The stamp act was the first direct tax, the colonists needed to pay the tax on all legal documents, newspapers, pamphlets, playing cards, dice, and all other printed material. This affected the rich and educated people. Colonists burned tax collectors in effigy and tarred and feathered them.
  • Virginia Resolves

    Virginia resolves the first important colonial resistance of the stamp act, it was saying the British has no right to tax the colonists unde the stamp act has passed in Virginia.

    Stamp Act Congress

    The Congress sent letter to government request tax. Meetings inspired a number of protests, refusals to pay taxes and even attacks on tax collectors.
  • Repeal of Stamp Act, and Declaratory act

    The stamp act stopped because the colonists and the American boycott their goods so the economy became bad, so the British abolished the stamp act to bring up the economy.
  • Pontiac's Rebellion

    Rebellion led by Ottawan leader called Pontiac. Native Americans trick settlers to gain access to fort, and capture or kill inhabitants. They diplomatic solution. At July 25, 1766, Pontiac signed treaty, but the treaty was not surrender.
