  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord
    This was the first battle of the revolutionary war. This included 73 British soldiers dying and 8-minute men died. This was when the phrase the British are coming originated from. This was set to warn the colonist and to be ready to attack. This was also a warning for Handcock and Adams.
  • Bunker Hill

    Bunker Hill
    Finding out that the British were going to attack 1,000 men led by Colonel William Prescott were told to be ready. They were told to go on top of Breed's Hill overlooking Boston. The next day 2200 British soldiers landed on the Charlestown peninsula and were heading to Breed's Hill. The colonist was short on ammunition so Cornel Prescott told them “Don’t fire until you see the whites of their eyes!” Sadly 100 colonists were killed and 300+ were wounded. The British won the battle of Bunker Hill.
  • Battle of Trenton

    Battle of Trenton
    The battle of Trenton lasted ten days and was a victory for the colonist. This was lead by General Gorge Washington. On Christmas day General Washington leads a group across icy Delaware. During the course of the ten days, he surprised the Hessians by attacking chritmas day.After this he spit the army in two to trick the red coats and it worked. On january 3rd the came back triamupint from the war.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    Battle of Saratoga
    This battle lasted fought eighteen days and was the turning point of the revolutionary war. There were two battles of Saratoga, the first the British won but then the second one the Americans forced the British to retreat. This was a turning point since this gave hope to the colonist that they had a chance of winning this war since they won the second battle of Saratoga. This is why the Battle of Saratoga was the turning point of the Revolutionary war.
  • Winter at Valley Forge

    Winter at Valley Forge
    General Gorge Washington and the continental army went to Winter at Valley Forge six days before Christmas. This place was a reminder to General Gorge Washington because it's where he proved his mettle. The condition in Winter at Valley Forge was not good. Men were freezing and starving, but the worst part is that they were losing battles. Since they were 20 miles away from Philidelphia they chose a good spot to keep an eye of the British soldiers. When the time came they attacked.
  • Battle of Yorktown

     Battle of Yorktown
    While the colonist knew that the British were coming they had a signal. When the signal was released the colonist attacked. They were able to break into the British fort. 400 of colonist successfully got in, while 34 of the colonist were either dead or wounded. The british retreated and that was another battle won by the colonist.
