    Battle of Bunker Hill
    Short Description: General Gage ordered an assault on the American forces north of Boston. The Americans expected this and fortified Bunker Hill. Gage then ordered a attack on Bunker Hill and drove the rebels away.
    Outcome: British won but it was extremely costly for the them. This battle convinced the British this was no minor rebellion.

    Short Description: General Henry Clinton makes a successful flanking maneuver at the Continental Army in Brooklyn, New York.
    Outcome: British win. Washington was able to escape without the British knowing and didn't lose a single life.

    Battle Trenton & Princeton
    Short Description: Washington and his troops crossed the Delaware River and attacked a group of Hessians by surprise. Washington's troops almost got trapped by Cornwallis's force, but they avoided them and headed north.
    Outcome: The Americans winning both battles made it to where they were reenergized for the revolution.

    Short Description: A battle between the two ships, the Bohomme Richard and the Serapis. Captain of the Bohomme Richard, John Paul Jones said, "I have not yet begun to fight", when someone suggested that they surrender
    Outcome: The Americans won, but shortly after their victory, the Bohomme Richard also sunk.

    Short Description: General Clinton and 8,000 men sailed from New York to attack Charleston. They were joined by British regulars and Loyalist and they laid a siege to Charleston. The Americans surrendered 3 months.
    Outcome: The British won and this battle was the Americans greatest defeat in the war.

    Short Description: Cornwallis with fewer than 2,000 men went on the attack just outside the town of Guilford Courthouse. Using their training and experience, they were able to drive the American from the battlefield
    Outcome: The British won, but they lost over a quarter of their force. Cornwallis feared of the next battle.
