August 8th through the 22nd, Israel Putnam sent 10,00 troops to slow down the British, and for Washington to take the rest of the Continental Army to Manhattan.

Battle of Trenton and Princeton!
Trenton~ Howe stopped in Winter and the Americans went through Delaware, made a surprise attack @ 4 a.m , Princeton ~ Americans almost got trapped by cornwallis but they were fighters.
outcome: Americans won both. -
Battle Of Saratoga!
Capture of Fort Ticonderoga was a great success, a large force of militiamen were forced to surrender. Saratoga opened negotiations on October 17th, Burgoyne and his army laid down their arms, France became the first foreign country to recognize the United States of America and this paved the way for French involvement in the conflict.
Outcome: Burgoyne and his army surrendered, the Americans won the battle of Saratoga. -
Battle of Vincennes!
Clark moved to Vincennes and had a surprise attack on the British,
outcome: The Americans won and Hamilton surrendered. -
Battle of Bohomme Richard vs. Serapis
Fought between ships, Bonhomme kept fighting for 3 hours, Even after fighting the Bonhomme Richard sinked the following day.

After three months of heavy fighting the city surrenders in what have been the greatest American defeat in the entire war.

Battle of Guilford Courthouse
Greene received a new detachment of volunteers, bringing total of 4,400 although most of the newcomers were untrained and inexperienced militiamen.
Outcome: Cornwallis decided to withdraw back into North Carolina, & Greene followed. -
Battle of Yorktown!
Cornwallis surrendered, The British government entered into negotiation with the Continental congress and peace was finally concluded in November.
outcome: Cornwallis surrendered at Yorktown and peace was finally concluded in November at Paris. -
Battle of Bunker Hill
About 10,00 militiamen went to Boston after Concord, the British had two to one advantage over the americans and throughout the battle. And British knows its not going to be a easy fight.
