    August 8th through the 22nd, Israel Putnam sent 10,00 troops to slow down the British, and for Washington to take the rest of the Continental Army to Manhattan.
    outcome: British won, the battle of Long Island.

    Trenton~ Howe stopped in Winter and the Americans went through Delaware, made a surprise attack @ 4 a.m , Princeton ~ Americans almost got trapped by cornwallis but they were fighters.

    Capture of Fort Ticonderoga was a great success, a large force of militiamen were forced to surrender. Saratoga opened negotiations on October 17th, Burgoyne and his army laid down their arms, France became the first foreign country to recognize the United States of America and this paved the way for French involvement in the conflict.
    Outcome: Burgoyne and his army surrendered, the Americans won the battle of Saratoga.
