  • Navigation Acts

    Navigation Acts
The Navigation Acts were set up so that the colonies could only trade with the British. This act was not followed very often and the British knew of this but acted as if it was only jaywalking. This contributed to the Revolutionary war by representing how much the colonies need independence and much control Great Britain has over the colonies.
  • Albany Plan of Union

    Albany Plan of Union
This was the beginning of the rebellion showing how much they need independence. The colonists began to rise up against the British but they couldn't do much with such little people they had. They began putting this photo every where the eye can see. There wasn't much the English could do without knowing who it was doing this.
  • Royal Proclamation of 1763

    Royal Proclamation of 1763
This Royal Proclamation is the biggest reason the war started. This was what made many people join the rebellion. The Royal Proclamation is what declined any of the colonists from going West. This seems reasonable but the population was sky rocketing and it was beginning to get crowded.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
This was really the second to last straw for the Rebellion. This Act allowed British troops to stay in homes during the seven year war. With the population booming and paying for extra food, the people have finally had it.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was at first an accident then it turned into a slaughter. It started of as colonists throwing rocks at the British soldiers. The king had asked for one favor and that is not to shoot anybody. These orders were disobeyed when one of the soldiers had just had enough. There was a total of 5 deaths and it may not seem like much but this was enough to start the war.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was the first act of the rebellion. It was very simple, the rebellion threw all of the tea into the harbor. This seems like a minor act but it was enough to throw the British over the edge and fight against the colonists.
  • Declaration of Independence

    Declaration of Independence
This was what led to the beginning of the Revolutionary war and it was the first time King George III read a letter from the colonies. He was furious and wanted to fight. Not long after the war continued on and on. This is how the United States got their independence and this is how the war started.
