    Battle of Lexington and Concord
    It happened on April 19th, 1775. A lot of conflict had been happening between the colonies and Britain. British troops heard that the colonists were keeping a lot of weapons in Lexington and Concord. Troops marched from Boston to Lexington to collect the weapons. The colonists had heard about this and hid all of the weapons so the British wouldn't find them. When the British got there, the colonists fought back a little bit, but for the most part, ran.

    It was early in the revolutionary war. The british were planning to send british troops to supervise the hills around boston. The colonial army heard about it and 1,000 troops commanded by William Prescott set up at the to of Breed's hill. British ended up winning but lost a lot of its troops. Most of the colonial army ran when they captured the hill. It took Britain three tries to capture the Hill.

    It happen on August 27th, 1776. British successfully pushed the continental army out of New York where the British eventually used it as a stronghold.
  • Battle of Trenton & Princeton

    Battle of Trenton & Princeton
    It was the day after christmas of 1776. George Washington and his army crossed the cold Delaware and was able to sneak up on 1,000 hessians, also known as german soldiers. They captured most of them and killed some. It was a small victory, but a sign that they knew what they were doing.

    The battle of Saratoga took place from September 19th, to October 7th of 1777. It was the first big battle that America won. America proved themselves to everyone else and france said they would send troops over there to help. Britain tried to make a treaty with them, but they declined it.

    It was february 25th, 1779. Commander George Rogers Clark took 170 men, including kentucky militia and French Volunteers. The group traveled 200 miles to Fort Sackville. There they brutally killed five captive indians that were for the british. British governor Garrison surrendered.

    Was a major battle fought from March 29th to May 12th, 1780. The British captured 3,000 troops and overtook Charleston. The British only lost and wounded 250 troops. It was one of the biggest Victories by the British
  • Battle of Guilford Courthouse

    Battle of Guilford Courthouse
    It took place on March 15th, 1781 in North Carolina. The British won, but lost a bunch of troops just like bunker hill. After that, General Cornwallis decided to go to Virginia where he later surrendered to George Washington.

    It happened on september 28th, 1781. George Washington got 17,000 France and colonial troops to star a siege in yorktown. They captured 9,000 british troops in a blowout victory. t was one of the biggest battles they won and an important event in the war.
