    Battle Of Lexington & Concord
    For a period of time, tension had been built between the 13 colonies and the British authorities. On April 18, 1775 British troops were sent to Concord to capture John Hancock and Samuel Adams, but they had been warned before and escaped. There was a confrontation between the Biritish and the Minuteman at Lexington, were most of the Minuteman were killed or wounded. The Biritish then headed to Concord for amunition and were surprised by Minutemen at Lexington town where the British retreated.
  • Siege of Fort Ticonderoga

    Siege of Fort Ticonderoga
    Fort ticonderoga is located on Lake Champlain in Northeastern New York and it served as a major key point for acces to Canada and the Hudson River Valley during the French and Indin War. Benedict Arnold joined Etha Allen and the Green Montain Boys of Vermont on May 10th, 1775 to attack on the fort and capture the sleeping British. This siege was the first American victory of the American Revolutionary War and it gave the Continental Army artillery to use in future battles.

    General George Washington lead the main body of the Continental Army north of Trenton, New Jersey against Hessian soldiers. Almost the entire Hessian force were captured and it boosted the Continental Army's flagging morale and inspired enlistings.
  • Battle of Princeton

    Brtain's general Cornwallis was sent orders to counterattack George Washington' army to take back Trenton. Washington was informed of Cornwalilis's orders and the Americans quietly snuck around the Redcoats and headed North, while two men were left behind to make a campfire so the Redcoats thought they were still in the camp. The Americans surprised the redcoats at Princeton, New Jersey and the redcoats were captured. New Brunswick and Amboy, was now under American control.

    Near Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania the American army, guided by George Washington, and the British army, lead by general Sir William Howe, faught. The British were succeessful in defeating the Americans and forced them to withdraw toward Philadelphia. The Patriots were forced to leave most of their cannons to the British. and thier artillary horses fell in battle.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    Battle faught in Sratoga County, New York between the Continental Army and the British army. The Britsh surrendered ten days after attacking the Americans at Bemis Heights and were defeated. The American victory convinced the French government to formally recognize the colonist's cause and enter the war as their ally.

    Battle between Biritish and Patriots in Charleston, South Carolina. The Birtish defeated the Americans and took over Chrleston. The loss of the city and its 5,000 troops was a serious blow to the American cause.

This battle was pivotal moment moment in the Southern capmpaign and it raised Patriots' morale. With Ferguson dead and his militia destroyed, Cornwallis was forced to to abandon his plan to inacade North Carolinaand retreated to South Carolina.

    In the Cherokee County, South Carolina the Continental Army defeated the Biritsh army on January 17, 1781. This was a turning point in the reconquest of Suth Carolina by the British.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    Battle faught by the Continental Army and the French Army troops aginst the British army in Yorktown, Virginia. Washington ordered Marquis de Lafayette and an American army of 5,000 troops to block Cornwallis' escape from Yorktown by land while the French naval fleet blocked the British escape by sea. Cornwallis surrendered and his troops were captured. This battle lead to a negotiation with the British to put an end to the conflict.
