  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord
    The battle where 8 militaiamen lay dead and 9 were wounded while only one red coat was injured and still till this day nobody knows who shot first. The British then continued into Concord and burn it down. After they marched to Lexington they were attacked but still got pass Lexington. Later on this showed how the colonist did not have great marksmanship that day.
  • Bunker hill

    Bunker hill
    A lot of men lost there, 100 Americans perished and more than 300 others were wounded. The battle was said to be won by the British but after that the battle was a signifcant morale builder for the inexperienced Americans. The battle made the Bristish realized that the war was going to be long, tough, and costly.
  • Battle of Trenton

    Battle of Trenton
    Washingtons men couldn't hold Trenton against British reinforcements so he made them withdraw across the Delaware. After they across Washington tried to build his number because he found out 8,000 British troops were on there way to where he was.
  • Battle of Brandywine

    Battle of Brandywine
    The British seized Philadelphia after their victory at Brandywine Creek. Even though the British won the Revolutionary army was still intact and there was still many long battles to come.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    This was the turing point in the Revolutionary war were most of the Continental Army was left beaten, sick and in retreat. the British thought they could take advantage of this and suash the rebellion but they thought wrong because one General, General Horatio Gates battled with the British and caused them to suffer twice the number of casualties than the Americans and couldnt continue their drive to Albany.

    The 6 month encampment of General George Washington's Army at Valley Forge was the turning point in the American Revolution. They were just defeated at Bradywine, Paoli and Germantown and this lead some members of the Continental Congress to want to replace George Washingtion, they satrting to believe he was incompetent.
  • YorkTown w/ Marquis de Lafayette

    YorkTown w/ Marquis de Lafayette
    Marquis de Lafayette a 23 year old Major General that arrived in Yorktown to start a campaign against the British that would culminate in their defeat 6 months later. He als went back to France to get support/ back up for the battles they would need help in.

    Treaty of paris
    The treaty was siged by the British and the U.S. ending the War of the American Revolution. This Treaty granted the U.S. its independence and significant western territory.
