The battle of Lexington and Concord kicked off the American Revolutionary War. The battle of Lexington and Concord took place in Boston, Massachusetts. There was 1,800 British and the American numbers are unkown.The British suffered extensive loss. The Americans considered the contest an encouraging start to the war. -
Bunker Hill and Breeds Hill
This battle took place on the Charlestown peninsula on the North side of the Boston Harbor .British troops of the Boston garrison against troops of the American Continental Army. There were 2,400 British and 1,500 americans.hile the British drove the Americans from the Charlestown peninsula it was with heavy loss. The battle was at the time considered to be an American defeat. -
The Battle of Trenton and Princeton
It took place on the Deleware river , in Trenton, New Jersey. The leaders of each side were the Americans againt the Hessiains and British troops. The Battle of Trenton had 2,400 American troops with 18 guns. 1,400 Hessians with 6 light guns. -
Saratoga
This battle took place in Saratoga on the Hudsen river in New York State. The leaders of both sides of the battle were british and german troops against the Americans. 5,000 British, Brunswickers, Canadians and Indians. By the time of the surrender the American force was around 12,000 to 14,000 militia and troops. -
The Battle of Yorktown
The battle of Yorktown took place in virgina. There was 8,800 americans, while 7,800 French and 6,000 British. The battle was won by the Americans and the French.
