  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord
    "The shot heard around the world" was fired in Lexington and Concord. This battle officialy started the Revolutionary War. The patriots were a army of local militias and citizens that wanted there freedom. The first battle it seemed that the British would have no problem, but when the Patriots ambushed them in Lexington they suffered heavy casulties.

  • Bunker Hill

    Bunker Hill
    "Don't shoot till' you see the whites of there eyes". This battle took place on Breeds Hill outside of Boston. The British had around 800 wounded and 250 killed. The patriots may have gave up the position on the hill, but proved to be a strong force.
  • Declaration of Independence

    Declaration of Independence
    On this day the 50 delegets from the 13 colonies signed this documet to show how much they wanted there freedom and were willing to fight for it. It's most famous signature was by John Hancok for the size of the signature. "I wrote it large enough, so he won't need his glasses.
  • Battle of Long Island

    Battle of Long Island
    After taking seige of Boston George Washington took his troops to Long Island. The British Fleet used there 130 Ships of Limes that costed around a modern day aircraft carrier. These ships droped anchor in the harbor and fired on the town where the patriots were stationed. The Patriots retreated and the British would hold New York until the end of the war.
  • Battle of Trenton

    Battle of Trenton
    With out this battle the war would have stopped. Washington knew this and made a risky move. He and his soliders sailed across the Deleware then hiked nine miles to Trenton. Washington considered turning back, but when he got there they surpried the Hessians and won on Christmas Day. This made the British Commanders furious and the war continued on. This victory made morale boost and convinced Washingtons army to renlist.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    Battle of Saratoga
    British objective was to divide the colonies in half from Qubec. The Patriot sharpshooters and woodsmen were trying to elimate them doing that. They cut down trees along the trail to prevent Gentleman Johnny's carts from going any where. This slowed down travel, to sometimes only one mile a day. This allowed Patriots to kill the allied indians, officers, and soliders. The Patriots were led by Daniel Morgan. In the final battle, sniper, Tim Murphy shot Simon Fraser. This changed the war.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    The Patriots had the British under seige for 13 days in Yorktown, Virginia. With the help of the French and there ships. The ground forces surrounded the city and the Frech Fleet blocked off the river. The loss was so embarrsing the general had a lower rank solider bring his sword in defeat. But he handed it to the Lafyette th French leader, not george washington.
  • Treaty Of Paris

    Treaty Of Paris
    SourceThe Treaty Of Paris ended the American Revolutionary. This treaty allied the countries at war. America wanted the Providence of Quebec but British refused. Britian later signed seperate treaty with Fance and Spain giving florida to spain and quebec and islands of Africa to Fance. These are some of their more major terrortories.
