Battle of Lexington and Concord
This was the first battle of the American Revolution. General Gage marched to Concord to take military supplies being hoarded by the Americans. Luckily a group of militiamen saved the day and defended the town. This was the first American victory. -
Battle of Bunker Hill
American sieze hill next to Boston and British fights America for it. Although it was a British Victory, the Americans killed more enemies but they ran out of supplies and had to retreat. -
George Washington named Commander-in-cheif
Continental congress names Washington in charge of the Continental Army. -

General Arnold attacked with a lack of supplies and then had to wait for reinforcements. This was a British win. -

General William Howe wanted NYC to seperate the colonies and Howe progressed up the Hudson river. Showing that America would not stand for this, the Declaration of Independence was signed days later. -

Spain helps America by giving them critical military supplies they helped America to weaken the British Empire. -
Second Continental Congress
John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and Ben Franklin all met in Phillie to sign the declaration of independence which means all out war between the americas and britian. -

Delegates from the 13 colonies met in Phillie to sign a peice of paper freeing America from British rule. This would call for full fledge war because of rebellion. -
Battle of Long Island
First major battle after the Declaration of Independence was put into effect. This was a British Win and caused Washington to retreat. -

This was an American win because Washington decided to attack during the winter when the enemy wasn't expecting the attack. -
Capture of Fort Ticonderoga
This was a British Win. General Burgoyne set up cannons on sugar loaf, which was over looking Fort Ticonderoga. British were able to take the fort with ease. -
Battle of Brandywine
This was a British win. The british hoped this would be the end of the revolution but the Americans kept fighting. -
1st Battle of Saratoga
This battle was the turning point of the American Revolution. It was two seperate battles about 3 weeks apart. Both were american wins! -

This would destroy all of Cornwallis's supplies so he would be forced to surrender. American W! -
Siege of Yorktown
Washington sends the remainder of his troops to Yorktown to finish off the war. American W! -
Cornwallis surrenders.
Cornwallis was trapped with no reinforcements or supplies so he was forced to surrender. This was the end of the American Revolution. -
