    In 1906 Lee De Forest created an electonic amplifying vacuum tube to amplify the signals. (Though it was believed a Canadian inventor Reginald Fressenden came up with the idea)

    There are no communication lines running in the ocean, the radio gave marine industries a chance to communicate with land and notify them on things. Ex. Nobody would have known the Titanic sank until weeks later if there wasn't radio to communicate saying the ship was sinking.

    Federal Radio Commision was something establish because Uncle Charlie's was too big that got in the way of advertisment for the station that had payed advertisment. This organized a liscense for a transmiter and assigned radio station frequencies. This led to FCC

    Call letters were assigned because you can't identify a station because of it's frequency because a few miles out that could be the same frequency but a different station.
