  • Audion tube was invented!!

    Lee De Forest creared( or borrowed) the idea for the audion tube, a vacuum tube that amplifies signals.
  • The first song ever played on radio.

    The first song to ever be played on the radio was Oh Holy Night, achristmas carol. A Canadian Inventer named Reginald Fessenden aired it for the first time in the world.
  • Titanic on sea Radio

    The signifigance of the radio during the 1920s was for reasons like the titanic if the boat crashed there would be no radio signals but because there were military people on boats more people were saved on the titanic at that time.

    Radio stations stations were family friendly and for everyone in the 1930s-1940s before TV took its place. Famous shows such as Amos n. Andy, The shadow, Superman, Gunsmoke, and so many more.

    The FM transmitter was created by Edwin Armstrong in 1933.
    It made for a stronger and higher quality sound. Although it forced listeners to buy new radio.

    Swing dancing was the most popular dance and music during world war II. It brought joy to people during that time period when times were quite rough.

    London Blitz, from Vera Lynn was a popular song played during WW2 because it was inspiring to soldiers during thiis time period.

    In the 1940s Music became widely popular in radio when it was on its downfall. The only time when you could listen to music was from a jukebox, records, and live concerts. So when radio came out with music it waas a huge asset to radio channels everywhere.

    New inventions now such as spotify, pandora, youtube, itunes, last-fm, serius and more are becoming more popular in today's wold. It does effect Radio but Radio is here to stay! people like listening traditionally to radio in their cars, or for newsing purposes! :)
