    was the first president, there was no popular vote. his appointment was done by the delegates of the states. he was the one who created the president of the cabinet. his last president he set was only aloud to have two offices.

    There was a tax placed on whiskey that upset many farmers. Many farmers began to rebel against this tax. Some would riot in towns and others would even mess with the tax collectors. It wasn’t until 1794 when President Washington set out with the militia to control the rebels.

James Madison asked Congress to declare war. The war ended in 1815 with the Treaty of Ghent and the U.S. came out victorious.

They urged Congress to pass the Indian Removal Act to send the Cherokees to lands west of the Mississippi. Many Cherokees obeyed and others were removed by force.

    Georgia and other Southern states wanted to remove the Cherokee Indians from the United States. The Cherokee Indians tried to set up their own government but Georgia started to seize Cherokee land. Georgia pushed Congress to pass the Georgia got what they wanted and the Cherokees left.
